| Int. Standard Bible Encyclopedia GARDEN-HOUSE (beth ha-gan):
A place mentioned in describing the flight of Ahaziah, king of Judah, from Jehu (2 Kings 9:27). Probably we ought not to translate the Hebrew, but take it as a proper name, BETH-HAGGAN (which see). If he fled southward, the town might possibly be Jenin, EN-GANNIM, which see. | Multi-Version Concordance Garden-house (1 Occurrence) 2 Kings 9:27 But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden-house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, Smite him also in the chariot: and they smote him at the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there. (ASV DBY JPS YLT) |
